Launch Highs New Home
Launch High School will move to its permanent home at 5902 Sixth Avenue in Sunset Park, Brooklyn in 2027.
The full-block campus, formerly Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy, gives our growing high school the space to deepen its personalized, experiential, and career-connected model as we expand to serve students across grades 9–12.

Launch's academics are rigorous, apply to the real-world, and are built around each student. Through hands-on, project-based learning in Science, Humanities, and Math, students dig into real problems — not just worksheets. Every student gets the pace and support they need to truly master the material, and shows that growth through a portfolio of real work. Paired with a well-rounded course load of electives, health, and world languages, our academics prepare the whole student for what comes next.

At Launch, learning doesn't stop at the classroom door. Students work directly with community partners and industry practitioners, gaining real-world experience through hands-on projects, internships, and credentialed coursework. Whether they choose an established Launch pathway — such as environmental sustainability — or design their own, every student graduates with real skills and real connections to carry with them into whatever comes next.

Every Launch student belongs to a Crew — a small advisory group of students that stays together for all four years of high school. Guided by three dedicated advisors focused on social-emotional growth, academics, and postsecondary planning, students build relationships, set goals, and reflect on their progress in a space built on trust and belonging. From daily check-ins to outdoor expeditions at Floyd Bennett Field, Crew is where students are known, supported, and empowered to grow.

Beyond the classroom, Launch students explore their passions through visual and performing arts, sports, and rotating affinity and interest groups. Whether performing on stage, building community through affinity spaces, coding for a robot, or leading as young activists, students discover new interests and deepen their understanding of themselves and the world.

At Launch, support is personalized, inclusive, and built around every student. High-dosage tutoring with a 2:1 student-to-teacher ratio helps students set goals and take ownership of their progress, while multi-tiered support systems provide targeted help with language, academic, and social-emotional growth. Through Restorative Justice practices woven into daily school life, students build the relationships and skills to resolve conflict and repair harm — creating a school culture rooted in belonging.

At Launch, every course — no matter the subject — builds toward the same nine core competencies: skills like designing solutions, engaging in inquiry, reasoning quantitatively, and navigating conflict. Content standards aren't the end goal — they're the context in which students practice these real, transferable skills. Whether a student is writing an essay, solving an equation, or working through a sustainability project, they're building the same abilities that they'll carry with them long after graduation.
