Launch High School Has Found Its Permanent Home in Sunset Park
Beginning in the 2027–28 school year, Launch High School will make its home at 5902 Sixth Avenue, a Sunset Park campus that has been a place of education and community for more than 120 years.
Launch Schools has signed a 15-year lease for a permanent home for Launch High School at 5902 Sixth Avenue in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
The full-block campus, formerly Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy, gives our growing high school the space to deepen its personalized, experiential, and career-connected model as we expand to serve students across grades 9–12.
The site includes a 60,728-square-foot school building with classrooms, an auditorium, a dedicated cafeteria, outdoor recreation areas, and access to a 16,000-square-foot regulation-size gymnasium and playgrounds. The campus also includes dedicated space for community programming.
Large, purpose-built educational campuses offering this combination of classroom, athletic, and outdoor space are increasingly rare in New York City. Before we move in, Launch will invest in meaningful improvements to modernize the property for future generations of students.
This building has served Sunset Park families for over a century. Launch is honored to continue that legacy — and to be a thoughtful, engaged member of this community for years to come.
Securing a permanent, purpose-built home for Launch High School is a transformative moment for our students and for the future we are building in Sunset Park. It gives us the foundation to grow while remaining the kind of school where students are known well, challenged to do meaningful work, and supported in building a path toward college and careers.”
